Meet Tommy P: One of OFL’s Youngest Graduates—and a Future World-Changer

In April 2024, Tommy P. enrolled at Options For Learning with one goal: to graduate early. Just a few months later, he’s done exactly that—earning his high school diploma at only 15 years old, making him one of the youngest graduates in OFL history.

Tommy’s success didn’t come easy. “From sleepless nights and energy drinks to moments of triumph and finished classes, each step has created the people we are today,” he said in his graduation speech. Determined to move forward, he committed himself fully—even when it meant sacrificing free time and sleep. “Though I lost countless hours of sleep and sometimes regretted it, I continued to push for my goals.”

Delivering wisdom beyond his years, Tommy inspired classmates to chase their dreams and never give up.

At OFL, he found a clear path forward. “The teachers and staff at OFL gave me a direct path to [my dreams], ensuring I knew I deserved and could achieve what I aspired to.”

With personalized support and flexible scheduling, Tommy was able to accelerate his learning without being held back by a traditional timeline.

OFL also gave Tommy the chance to get involved. “By providing groups, like student council and safe space, trips like those to Blackbird Farms, and events like game days and movies, OFL has created a space for us to have school be regarded to as somewhere other than where we go to learn, it became a place for us to create relationships and create lasting memories.”, he added.

Through student council and field trips, he built friendships and found a place where he felt supported.

Now, he’s preparing for college in the fall. He ended his speech with advice for his classmates: “Be fearless in the pursuit of your dreams, knowing that the road may be winding, but the destination is far worth the journey.”

Tommy’s story is one of focus, resilience, and results—and a powerful example of what students can achieve with the right support.
